This is by no means a comprehensive list, but I wanted to add a bit of a bibliography for folks who want to follow me down the rabbit hole and learn more about electric vehicles and ebikes. There are a handful of websites that have been indispensable to me in researching the state of ebike technology. If you want to build a custom bike, they will get you started on your journey. I’m not going to reinvent the wheel here and duplicate their efforts, but all of these guys have done a great job assembling information and putting it out for people who want to get their hands dirty. Endless Sphere is the original – huge forum for custom/DIY electric vehicles of all kinds including electric bikes.

Electrek blog with lots of review and coverage of electric/alternative transportation.

Electric Bike Reviews as the title suggests, a site for reviews.

Electric Bike is a blog that covers technology, advanced builder info, and more reviews.

Ebikes HQ is another great enthusiast site with lots of useful info including a battery range calculator.

Finally, all pedalpushers should know about Sheldon Brown. Unfortunately the old guy is no longer with us, but the website is a repository for everything you ever wanted to know about bicycles.
